24/342: Because I didn't know how to photograph wounded pride
The scrapes (onto inside of pants) and swelling show up pretty well, but the purple under the egg that has formed on my knee merely looks like a shadow here. It is not easy to photograph your own legs!
I'm getting better, although it's still painful. I was walking to my car on campus and a truck came (fast) out of a construction site. I thought he was going to hit me and moved quickly. My heavy backpack created some momentum and I twisted around and smashed my left hand and knee to the ground.
My hand bled all the way home, and I thought that was the worst of it, but 1/2 way home my knee started feeling worse and worse and worse.
This is the 2nd time in 2 months I've had something like this happen. Both times heavy bags were involved. Must rethink heavy bag policy.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Where did you fall?
Oh no. Was it all for art?
Hope you feel better soon. You're right, too, about how difficult it is to photograph your own legs.
Dammit! I hate falling. My last was in front of a classful of students. Yeah. Hmm. I'm sorry 'bout your tumble.
